He was a man of great social influence during his lifetime. He would not be so popular today due to his hatred for England, his antisemitism, his respect for Germany, and his disgust with immigrants. By today's standards he would be associated with the Far Right Wing of American polictics. He was born on Feb. 16, 1838 in Boston and died on March 27, 1918 in Washington DC. The book is bound in light green cloth with gold accents; the fore edge has very minor stain; The dj is is fine condition.
