This photograph was taken by me at my old Little League field in Sonoma California.  The field was recently new when I first played ball there in part because one of the townsfolk worked on Hollywood movies and he started a campaign based on the movie Field of Dreams.  There was a campaign to raise money for a little league diamond using the famouse movie line "If you build it they will come"

 

Eventually everyone in the community pitched in enough money to build two fantastic little league baseball diamonds for Sonoma Valley Little League.  The other kids who lived on the otherside of town and played for the Valley of the Moon little league played on worse fields.  Most of the time the coaches for the Valley of the Moon teams used that fact as motivation and when they played against us Sonoma Valley Little Leagers they played harder and usually won.  This field must be close to being 30 years old by now. 

 

This ball just happened to be left after some practice on a day I was walking around Sonoma with my camera.
