Description: VF, 176 pp.; Heritage fine press editon of two Herman Melville novellas Benito Cereno and Billy Budd published in 1965.; The books have many fine color paintings as illustrations by Robert Stone.; Benito Cereno was first published in 1846 and is the story of a slave revolt on a Spanish ship whose captain is named Benito Cereno. Billy Budd was an unfinished novel from 1891 the year of Melville's death. It was first pulished in 1924 and the definitve edition in 1962. Billy Budd was made into a Hollywood movie (1962) directed by Peter Ustinov; Terrence Stamp plays Billy Budd, as the young British sailor in 1797 who is confronted by the sinister master-at-arms John Claggart played by Robert Ryan while Peter Ustinov plays Capt. Vere who has pity for Billy knowing he will be sentenced to death for accidently killing Claggart.; VF slipcase protects this fine press edition
