He pulished the two stories together in 1961 in his book Franny and Zooey (Little, Brown, and Company). So even though this book is a Third Printing it is really the first editon of the two stories together. What made these stories controversial during the sixties was that it was about teenagers discussing love, feelings, prayer, suicide and Jesus as well as the age old communication gap between teens and their parents.; fading on spine otherwise a crisp, clean copy of an American classic!
