Whitney Travel Bag

Mt. Whitney is the tallest peak in the lower 48 and is in California south of Yosemite and a little north of the town of Bishop California.  This ofcourse is not a photograph of Mt. Whitney.  It is a photograph looking out towards LAX in Santa Monica at the end of Route 66.  Art can be a serious form of expression as well as a fantastic form of therapy.  Photography to me accomplishes both of these for me.  Much like in life, in art, education and the pursuit of knowledge never ends.  I took this photograph on Christmas Eve about 5 years ago before I decided to edit it and slap it on a travel bag to sell on my online art shop.  Everytime I see this photograph in my catelog I remember the exact moment on that somewhat cold Southern California morning where I was just one of the 40 million individual people in California going about their lives, but I was the only one taking in one of our National Treasures, Sunrise over the Golden beaches of Los Angeles.  

Maybe that's the Son of the Waves in me.  But taking this photo was definately a "Dylan Moment" for me as a photographer.
